I started doing ideation and creative work in activations after producing and ideating for TV and streaming. I enjoy combining the tangible and intangible experiences into a journey.
Working with AMCI as a freelance creative on the Lexus CT200h, I got to ask the public what they wanted in a hybrid, sparking a transmedia conversation emerging with OTF interviews feeding into a massive LED wall projecting a visual pulse of the city. I created several applications for this Worldwide Lexus program. One that let attendees explore the Darker Side of Green in their city and let them share findings live online. Another app let attendees digitally mix a photograph of themselves, the city and the CT200h, to share online and to walk away with as a 3D lenticular print.
A way for San Francisco Senior Center members' to share their stories with family.
I solicited the project and was the account and creative lead. I worked with an environmental designer and scene shop to create the booth. I designed the UX/UI for the app, hired the developer and was the product manager.
We designed a freestanding recording booth to serve as a cozy space to enliven sharing and conversations and pay tribute to the buildings late 1930’s Streamline Art Deco design and nautical accents.  I took inspiration for the application UI from the small radios and tabletop jukeboxes of that time period. Using simple 1 or 2 button screens, large display type and dictation input, making the app approachable and easy to use.
I developed a cost effective space for Oracle that used 3D printed art, prototypes, 3D printers and laser cutters as attractors and allowed passerby easy viewing of the activities encouraging them to come inside, get hands on and take a closer look. Large work tables and pegboards full of tools gave a maker space vibe and were a catalyst for attendee participation. I developed and produced the concept, designed the space, curated the artists and makers, and worked the show.
The enthusiasm from the maker and manufacturing community was incredible. Makers and inventors from Noisebridge, TechShop and Oracle Innovation Lab were given a showcase for their ideas and inventions, with scheduled pitches and fun maker labs for attendees. Manufacturers like Stratasys and Specialized Bicycles provided product prototypes that included on-demand carbon fiber printed parts for Porsche and the fastest bicycle in the world. Manufacturers were able to inspire attendees with their innovations and drive traffic directly back to their booth. Artists like Kevin Mack and the Nervous System studio provided sculptures and 3D fashion concepts that helped broaden the aesthetic of what 3D printing technology can do.
As a freelance experimental AD/CD for AMCI, I drove the creative for two of the Scion xCHANGE tours. To reach Scion's young, creative and diverse audience, I helped create an activation program using national and local artists to raise awareness and money for community-based arts nonprofits.
This was achieved by spinning a transmedia narrative, image, and voice that has ingrained Scion at a community level and as a national conversation on the web. At every point of the experience flow, artistic expression, individuality and sharing were encouraged and rewarded.
